eBay Quick Tips #3 – Scouting items on Craigslist for resell.

In this eBay Quick Tips episode I talk about scouting items on Craigslist. Craigslist is a great way to find items for resell on eBay. I have even flipped items from Craigslist back onto Craigslist for a profit, you never know when you might find a deal.

This video will help show you how to cross reference the items from Craigslist on eBay to determine the profit on the item. If you are interested in the item be sure to send the seller and email with your lowest offer. You never know what they might accept.

Thanks for watching!

eBay Quick Tips #2

Hello World!

In this video I quickly go over how to search the completed listings on eBay to research the price for any item. This is an easy way to see what is currently listed on eBay, what other sellers are asking for and what other sellers have sold it for. You can also borrow some of the title keywords and descriptions from a completed listing to use in your own listing.

Hope this helps!

Garage Sale Find – Train Set

Hello everyone!

Today I just wanted to briefly share with you a great find at a garage sale this weekend. I was able to pickup a used but in great condition “Frosty the Snowman The Grand Arctic Express Christmas Train”. I picked up the train for $5 and after checking eBay they can sell anywhere from $60 to $100!

Trains and Train Sets are always something you should be on the lookout for. A few brands of trains that can be easy sells are: Lionel Trains, Bachmann Trains, Cast Iron Trains and HO Train sets. It would probably be wise to grab any Train Sets that you see as they are very very collectible and still sell very well on eBay.

When looking for a train set they will usually contain the following:
1.) Track track for train to run on.
2.) A leading locomotive.
3.) Train cars.
4.) Transformer

Make sure to look for these items when picking up a train set.

At a local auction I was able to pick up a few vintage Lionel Train Sets for around $30 each. They were an easy sell on eBay for $70+. You should always look to at least double your money!

Go get those trains!

Thrift Store Inventory

Looking for some inventory to resell on eBay, Craigslist or Amazon?  One of the best places to get great collectibles, clothing, electronics and more is from Thrift Stores!  When looking for Thrift Stores stay away from high-end, antique type shops.  You will not find many items here with enough markup to make any profit.

It’s best to look for non-profit, local shops that don’t always know what “they have”.  Here you can find some of the best items for resell on eBay.  Stay away from some of the bigger shops such as Goodwill and Salvation army among others.  Be sure to have your smart phone with you so you can do on the spot research on any items you might come across.

Many Thrift Stores also have sales!  You might wonder how the items can get any cheaper than they already are but they can!  Some Thrift Stores have certain days out of the month were all clothing might be half off.  I recently visited a local Thrift Store where ALL ITEMS were half off for the day.  What a great find!

So what are you waiting for?  Head over to http://maps.google.com type in “Thrift Store” and go hunting!

Listing on Craigslist

Hello everyone!  Today we are going to talk a little bit about listing items on www.craigslist.com.  If you don’t have an account at Craigslist start here!  Signing up for an account is 100% free and helps you manage all of your postings with ease.  For example you can easily renew your postings from within the account manager on Craigslist.  This is a very valuable and time-saving feature for members.

Capture

Craigslist is a great tool to get rid of certain items that can be difficult to sell on eBay such as the following:

1. Heavy items where shipping is a pain.
2. Items that you cannot list on eBay such as guns, knives, digital items, etc.
3. Items you need to get rid of in a hurry.

If you have a big bulky item that is difficult to ship or costly, list it on Craigslist!  Again Craigslist is 100% FREE so why not?  Some items you just cannot sell on eBay such as knives, guns and digital items.  Craigslist can be another great place to offload these items.

Myself I almost list all of my items from eBay on Craigslist as well.  You can be a little picky and just choose the items that will sell fast or are popular.  Please use common sense and be safe when dealing with people on Craigslist.  Most people are honest but you never know!

Thanks!
